Conception: A Dance Program
for Artistic Development and Choreographic Craft

Are you a dancer searching for something deeper than technique? Conception is designed to guide you beyond the fundamentals of movement, offering a transformative journey into artistic growth and the creative process.
This program is ideal for dancers of all backgrounds who are ready to connect more authentically to their artistry. Through a carefully curated blend of exercises, discussions, and explorations, Conception provides the tools to tap into your unique voice as a performer and creator.
Participants will delve into:

Artistic Development: Discover what inspires you as a dancer and how to translate those inspirations into meaningful and unique movement. Build confidence in your ability to express emotion and tell stories through your art.

Choreographic Craft: Learn the essentials of crafting original choreography. From developing concepts to structuring movement and refining details, you’ll leave with a clear process to create work that resonates.
The program fosters a supportive and collaborative environment, where dancers can take risks, explore their creativity, and engage in thoughtful feedback. Whether you are an experienced choreographer or creating for the first time, Conception will help you deepen your connection to dance as an art form and unlock your potential as an artist.

Details:
Class Dates: Sundays 9am to 1pm PST March 23rd, 30th, April 6th, 13th and 27th.
​
Each student will also have a one-hour private session with Kami towards the end of the series.

Cost: $400 to $600 sliding scale
Payment plan is available.

HOMEWORK
There will be a reading assignment as well as a choreography rough draft to be prepared before the intensive. More info will be provided after registration.

ATTENDANCE
Live participation is required to take this course. It is acceptable to miss one or two classes, however you will get more out of the course when you can attend class live and actively receive feedback and contribute to the course. Each class is recorded and students who miss class will be expected to review the recording of the missed class before the following class date. PREREQUISITES
This intensive is geared towards dancers of any level or style, although 3 or more years of dance experience is recommended.

SLIDING SCALE TUITION: Community Supported pricing is for those facing financial or other hardships, Standard pricing is the set cost, and Pay It Forward helps cover others in your program. There is no application for the different amounts—simply pay what works for you.

Community Supported: $150 deposit to secure your spot. Two additional payments of $125 will be scheduled once you register.

What's the refund policy?
All sales are final and not transferable to another course. While there are no refunds on tuition, it is possible to transfer your spot to another dancer.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
If you are not able to attend you may sell your spot to another student. Selling or transferring your spot is your responsibility. To sell your spot, please first email krysalisdance@gmail.com. If there is a waitlist, you will be connected with the first student on the waitlist to manage payment* for the spot together. If there is no waitlist, you may seek out other students to purchase your spot. Once the spot has been purchased, please send an email confirming you have received the payment and are officially transferring your spot to krysalisdance@gmail.com, ccing the new student. All accommodations will be made for transfers up to 10 days before the first day of the course.
*Note: Transfer payments are the responsibility of the student selling their spot.
